Did you know, that the NBA has a ghost franchise? IE a franchise which collects TV revenue but does not exist. When the ABA merged with the NBA the Spirts of St Louis/Salt Lake Rockies wanted to join the NBA, but the NBA only wanted to include 4 of the former ABA teams. So a compromise was worked out. The Spirts/Rockies would recieve a percentage of the NBA TV income. currently it is 1/32nd of the TV income.

Also, Russell was the first player to have his jersey retired twice, by the same team. The first time was in 1972, but Russell refused to cooperate. Then, in 1999, Russell agreed to a public ceremony, and his number 6 jersey was retired again.

it must have been 97 my book on the pistons (which is where i got my info on) was made in 1997 if it were 1996 then it would have said in the book under were i got the info
